A scattered catchment, not an arrivals hall

Coimbatore weddings have a different transport shape from the other cities we serve, and it comes down to where guests are coming from.

Not, mostly, from an airport. From the surrounding industrial and agricultural belt — Tiruppur, Erode, Pollachi, Mettupalayam, and frequently across the Kerala border from Palakkad.

That means many medium-length runs from several directions, rather than one concentrated arrivals operation. It is easier to plan than Bangalore’s airport problem and harder to plan than a single-city wedding, because the pickups are spread across a region and often across two states.

The airport is not the constraint here

Coimbatore International is about 10 km from the city — a short, cheap transfer. Anyone used to Bangalore weddings will find this a relief: a car doing an airport run here is unavailable for twenty minutes, not for three hours.

That genuinely changes the fleet arithmetic. The same vehicles can do arrivals and venue work on the same day, which is not realistic in Bangalore.

Guest runs across the belt

The runs worth planning for specifically:

Tiruppur — the largest single source of out-of-town guests for many Coimbatore weddings, and a straightforward hour.

Pollachi and Palakkad — south and west, the latter crossing into Kerala, so a permit applies on those runs even though the distance is modest.

Erode and Salem — north-east on the highway.

Mettupalayam — north, and the start of the Ooty road if anyone is combining the wedding with a hill trip afterwards.

We price these per kilometre rather than folding them into a city package, because they are journeys rather than shuttling, and we say which applies for each leg.

Hill venues

Resort weddings toward Ooty, Coonoor or Valparai are increasingly common, and they are a different job again.

A hill venue means guests climbing a ghat road, frequently in convoy, sometimes after dark. That needs drivers who know the climb, realistic timings rather than map times, and a hill charge on the fare which we quote upfront.

How we price the event itself

Multi-day hourly packages for the wedding days, because they are long and full of waiting with short hops between. Extra hours and extra kilometres are on the rate card, and hours run garage-out to garage-in.

Coimbatore’s wedding demand is less concentrated on single dates than Bangalore’s, but the local fleet is smaller. Popular dates tighten quickly, and if you need several vehicles across two or three days, weeks of notice is the right amount.
