One-way drops from Madurai — a hub, not an endpoint
Most cities generate drops in one or two dominant directions. Madurai generates them in every direction, because it sits in the middle of southern Tamil Nadu rather than at the edge of it.
North. Trichy, Chennai, Salem, Bangalore. The Chennai drop is our highest-volume one-way from here, and long enough that one-way pricing saves substantially against a round trip.
South. Tirunelveli, Tuticorin, Kanyakumari, Nagercoil. These are the drops that distinguish us here — operators based in Chennai or Bangalore quote them reluctantly because it is a long empty return for them. From Madurai it is a normal day’s work.
East. Rameswaram, out over the Pamban crossing.
West. Coimbatore and Kodaikanal, and over the border to Thekkady, Munnar and Kochi, where a Kerala permit applies.
The Rameswaram question
The most frequent one-way request here is also the one we most often talk people out of.
If you are travelling onward from Rameswaram, a drop is right. If you are coming back to Madurai within a day or two, a round trip costs less than two drops — and arranging a car in Rameswaram for the return leg is genuinely harder than arranging one here. The car waiting for you is worth more than the fare difference.

Short drops and the minimum
Dindigul, Virudhunagar, Sivaganga, Melur — these are short enough that the minimum distance sets the fare, not the kilometres you travel. Two drops of different lengths can cost the same, and that is not a mistake in the quote. It exists because the car still has to come home.
Pickups outside the city
A good share of our one-way work starts in Dindigul or Virudhunagar rather than Madurai itself. The fare is quoted from where the car starts. We say so when you book, not afterwards.

Chennai and Trichy lead, then Coimbatore, Bangalore, Rameswaram, Kanyakumari and Tirunelveli. The southern drops are the ones we get asked about most and that operators based further north tend not to cover properly.
Is a drop to Rameswaram sensible, or should I take a round trip?
It depends entirely on how you are coming back. If you are travelling onward from Rameswaram, take the drop. If you are returning to Madurai within a day or two, a round trip costs less than two drops and the car waits for you — and finding a car in Rameswaram for the return is harder than it sounds.
Do you do drops from Madurai to Kerala?
Yes — Thekkady, Munnar and onward to Kochi. A Kerala permit applies, charged at actuals and quoted upfront. We already hold it.
Why is there a minimum distance on a short drop?
Because the car has to come back, usually empty. On short drops the minimum decides the fare rather than the actual kilometres, which is why a drop to Dindigul and a drop to Virudhunagar can cost the same.
